Baek Ji Young - Like Being Hit By A Bullet

I was watching 2008 KBS Acting Awards last evening. Heard this song for the 2nd time. It's heart wrenching.

That's the wonder of music. Even if you do not understand the language, you can feel what the singer wanted to impress on the listeners. Hope you like it too.

I have embedded the MV by the side. Lyrics appended below.

Like being hit by a bullet
I can’t make sense of anything
All that comes out is Laughter
So I just Laughed,
So I just Laughed,
Just..

While I’m Laughing until I collapse
I asked if I could ask one thing
Why are we breaking up
How do we break up
How do we break up
How

In this bruised chest,
Our memories are overflowing
Even though I try hold onto them,
Even if I block my chest,
They all slip

The Movie - Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

Watched the romantic comedy with my parents. Had a real good laugh!!

My all time favourite actor Shahrukh Khan. For love, he can change himself from a geek to a crazy hunk, learnt dancing, simply to put smiles and laughter back into the woman of his life.

Cast: Shahrukh Khan, Anushka Sharma,Vinay Pathak

"Love does not differentiate between the ordinary and exceptional, the uninteresting and interesting, the unattractive and attractive. Because love knows no distinction. It can happen to anyone and once it does it engulfs us into it completely and gives us those miraculous experiences that only love can yield.

This is what happened to Surinder Sahni (Shahrukh Khan) - a simple, clean hearted, honest man working for Punjab Power, leading a humdrum life, when he meets his total opposite and finds love in the flamboyant, fun-loving, vivacious - Taani (Anushka Sharma) for whom the whole world is her canvas and she paints her own life with the colours of rainbow all until unforeseen circumstances changes it all and brings them together.

What follows is a journey filled with laughter, tears, joy, pain, music, dance and a lot of love. A journey that makes us believe that there is an extraordinary love story in every ordinary jodi." - taken from GV website.

Couldnt resist to post all the photos I could lay my hands on.

End of November. Start of December.

For the second half of November, I've been slogging everyday at work.

Appraisals, project, reorganisation, staff management - stuffs I gotta juggle everyday from 830am till 9pm. At times when staying in office turns me off, I pack piles & piles of files in my luggage bag and lugged them home. Sleep early, wake up 4am to check the cases then off to work again.

I was real pissed last Friday. Why am I working with selfish people?! Staff had to shift workstations and encountered problem with LAN connection. But none lifts a finger to help! Just know how to nag and complain. I am doing 2 persons job and rushing for month end closing and my project. Yet, I have to help staff to check connection, get IT helpdesk engineer to come down and clear the port violation. Anyway, I am glad staff managed to get connected to LAN and start working.

During appraisal time, you get to see the true colours or should I say the ugly side of humans. How people suck up to their bosses, smile, offer stuffs, etc. But before that and after office hours, they talk bad about their bosses. Super PLASTIC!!!

Anyway, I shant waste my time talking about them. I stay at my job cos of my pay. No choice. I still have to support myself, parents & my bunnies. Hopefully my life change for the better and I get to pull myself out of this UGLY place.

I was so tired on Friday. Slept in bus, almost missed my stop. Slept at 10+. Finally I got my well deserved rest. Woke up 7am. Cleared and sorted my bills, cupboard. Watched Never Been Kissed and Diary of Nanny on SCV. Listened to my music.

Sunday - Happy Birthday Daddy!! Love you. May you stay happy and healthy always. Mum cooked alot today - Beef with kailan, Honey fried chicken, prawns, sweet sour fish, clams. Phew... great exercise for my tummy. haha

Dad's durian cake

Dad feeling paiseh.. cos we singing birthday song for him

Dad having a good laugh with mum

December... that's tomorrow. I hope I can start exercising from tomorrow on. Been off it for 3 months. Coming saturday, company D&D. Guess what. I aint dressing up to the nines this time round. No more spending $ on dress/gowns which I only wear once. Theme is retro. I'm wearing jeans (sewn some flowers on it) with green sneakers, black hooded top, knitted headgear and shades. The flowers looks kinda obiang.. but what the heck.

Next next saturday I have an invite to go some place to relax. K lah. I'll update again if I have the time.

Dostana - The Movie

Its all happening in the Beach Party Capitol of the World. Miami is the setting for Dharma Productions latest offering Dostana - serving a cocktail of all ingredients to do with Friendship, Fun, Frolics and that thing called Love. But with a slight twist there is a small case of pretending to be Gay!!

When Sameer (Abhishek Bachchan) and Kunal (John Abraham) are turned down for an apartment because the land lady doesnt want 2 strapping young men to corrupt her young sexy niece Neha (Priyanka Chopra), they go to plan G they pretend to be Gay to secure the apartment anyway.

All is well till they meet the sexy siren, Neha and thus begins a tsunami of fun, frolics and a testing of friendship like never before. When Neha's boss Abhimanyu (Bobby Deol) enters the fray as the third contender for Neha's affections, it gets even hotter under everyones vests and bikinis and the boys get down and dirty, in sunny Miami - taken from GV website.

Start of the movie.. alot of cat calls.. ahhhh... awwww... yeah... wats up you say? John's bod thats the reason. And Sameer (Abhishek) did a good job in "calling out" Kunal (John) name in the show. Didnt know a man could do such groaning.

Besides the good bods, nice sexy tush, boobs. The story revolves around friendship and love.

My review on the movie - GREAT!! Value for money!! Superbly hilarious. Left me in stitches throughout the show. I give it 5 popcorns. If time permits, I'm gonna watch it again.

REC - The Movie

REC revolves around a television reporter, ngela, and her cameraman, Pablo, who cover the night shift in one of Barcelona's local fire stations. The firehouse receives a call from an old lady trapped in her house. When they arrive, and the firemen and the police break down the door, the old lady suddenly attacks and bites one of the policemen, and it is revealed that an unknown but virulent disease is infecting people, causing them to turn into zombies - taken from GV website.

Pls note that this is a Spanish movie with English subtitles of course.

I watched the trailer. Looks good. I saw the reviews posted at GV website - 4 to 5 popcorns. Convinced this is a thriller which could douse my thirst for horror flicks.

Excited over the movie. Quickly finished up my jumbo hotdog before it starts. Okok movie starts... reporter doing her intro... receives a call. Goes to house, thriller starts. Not bad. But the screen kept shaking, moving here and there (title is REC, what do u expect). Gave me headache. Lucky it wasnt this way throughout the whole film. Should have taken motion sickness pill before the movie.

Anyway, movie was nice. Not bad. But ending sucks. Or should I say no ending at all. The ending spoiled the whole movie. Damn disappointed. Why arent there any good quality horror flicks no more.

If ending doesnt matter to you, go watch. There are many exciting parts which will make you scream, keeping you in suspense on what will happen next.

The Coffin - The Movie

Inspired by a true Thai ritual of lying in coffins to get rid of bad luck and prolong life, THE COFFIN is a supernatural thriller about a young man and a young woman who decide to go through the ritual in Thailand - taken from GV website.

Casts: Karen Mok (super stick thin), Ananda Everingham (super yummy looking.. slurp).

Movie aint scary at all for me. More like a documentary on how the Thai ritual works and the stuffs people who lied in the coffins go through thereafter.

What irritated me, was a couple beside me. The girl was scared stiff, legs on chair, face covered. While her man kept murmuring stuffs to her, trying to scare her even more. Kept my cool. Otherwise, I would have asked them to shut the fxxx up!

If you are timid and get scared over little stuffs, go watch it. It will make you jump in your seats a few times. Okay too for guys who wants to act macho infront of your woman =^.^=

Tropic Thunder - The Movie

Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. lead an ensemble cast in "Tropic Thunder," an action comedy about a group of self-absorbed actors who set out to make the most expensive war film. After ballooning costs force the studio to cancel the movie, the frustrated director refuses to stop shooting, leading his cast into the jungles of Southeast Asia, where they encounter real bad guys - taken from GV website.

Ben Stiller as usual, super oblivious to what is real and play acting. His usual character in most of the movies I watched him in - he who thinks he knows it all. Robert Downey Jr. - hilarious! They pumped up his lips, darkened him to look like a nigger. Best part, he tries to talk like one.

Movie is great to catch. But the catch is, you gotta learn how to catch all the humours through all the talks. Yeah, I am trying to sound funny (tough luck).

P.S - Worth paying weekday rate.

What a Big Joke !

Annual appraisal is based on whole year's performance. Yet when HR released a notice on the commencement of appraisal in October, you can visibly, obviously see some bosses coming into office at 8am, walking about 3-4 times every morning, pretentiously going to the loo or making a drink. If you are new, you would be thinking, if he is having a bad tummy or having bad bladder problems. Nahh.. you are way wrong. Looking closely at him. His eyes are wavering around, checking out if officers come in early, on the dot or late. So, for those who are always early for the first 9 months of the year but late since October due to whatever reasons, you are super SUAY. Cos he would only take note of your punctuality from October till once the appraisal is over. That's the boss.

Next come the office pet. For the first 9 months of the year, she reports to work at 845am to 9am. If she cant come in, it's either see doctor, diarrhea, water pipe burst, etc. Whatever reasons you have. Of cos, there are occasions we know that it is genuine but if you do it too often, who would ever believe you anymore. Likewise, when appraisal starts, OH GOSH! She comes in at 8am to 815am!! Could you believe that. Yeah it happens. She who usually leaves on the dot, only leaves office after everyone left. Super play acting. Oh ya, she took about 3-4 days MC throughout the year, but HR records only showed 1 day. Why? Maybe she used her leave to cover it or she simply didnt report her sick leave. If you want to use your leave, then just say you are taking leave and not leave such dubious excuses for people to judge your character. One more joke: When I came into this place 1.5 yrs ago, she has 2 big pile of stuffs (looks like work to me) on the side of her desk. I thought she was busy like me. But guess what, I have never seen those 2 piles being cleared for this past 1.5yrs. They are just PROPS!! She simply move them around her desk so that she would looked busy.

Wah.. her story is damn long. I start at a new para. Okay. I have been covering my assistant who left since April. I stayed OT till 9-10pm and even come back on saturdays to clear my work or even helped my staff cope. I dont tell boss cos to me, it's my job I have to complete, no matter how I did it. It's nothing special. What irks me is my boss dont appreciate that I am covering another officer's work for going half a year now. Take it for granted that I can cope very well at it. So, he takes his own time in getting replacement. Lately, he mishandled this matter such that I have to tie up the loose ends for him. It's heart wrenching to see your officer suffering the consequences of his mishandling. And guess what, he dont even care how the officer is, only interested in the outcome so that he can continue his work!

Voila! This is my working place. A BIG JOKE aint it. Though I am not one who intend to climb the corporate ladder, but coming to work to such play acting everyday is a real drag. When I see her seated at her desk at 815am, I kept laughing to myself. Telling myself.. why am I staying in such a useless place. Simply wasting my time. Yeah for the pay, enough for myself, parents and my bunnies.

I understand how love or attraction works. It can happen to anyone. If it happens in the workplace, you gotta draw a line between work and personal. Where's your integrity!!! If that is how you work, how could you expect your peers and subordinates to respect you. If they do, they are simply polishing up to you cos of appraisal. An ugly sight which you see everywhere. A place I cant survive in cos I do not believe in polishing up to people. Super Plastic and against my character as a person. Call me stupid or whatever. But I am sticking to my principle to how a person should be to another, that is, GENUINE.

Getaway to Cameron Highlands - 23/10 to 27/10

Went for a short getaway up to Cameron Highlands with my parents. Stayed at Equatorial hotel, Senator Suite. Price was kinda steep but worth it. Even my parents who are frugal, said so.

Hotel Lobby - With fireplace, pool and soccer tables. They have indoor gym & swimming pool too.

Living Room - With TV, sofa, mini fridge, etc

Room - King size bed, extra bed (for me), TV, desk, dressing table

Restroom - Divided into 4 sections, bathtub, shower, basin, bowl

Imagine waking up in the morning to cold weather, clean fresh air and beautiful scenery. Yupp, these are the view from our hotel room.

As it was our 3rd time there, we are kinda familiar with the place. So it's more of a rest and relax trip. No need to rush for local tours, no need to check out information on where to go.

My parents at a market near the hotel.

Look at the fresh veggies. Purple cauliflower.

A small food stall within the market, selling all sorts of food. You name it, they have it.

My mum was fascinated at the carrots. Cos you dont see them this way in Spore.

Pitcher plant - Insect eating plant.

My lovely parents posing for pics near the hotel garden & relax area.

We went to a local private chrysanthemum plantation.

We went strawberry plucking. Look at the fruit and its flower.

Educational Tour at Hydrophonic Farm

This is where we settle our daily breakfast. A canteen near the hotel. Cheap and good.

In celebration of Deepavali. The "Kollam" at the hotel lobby.

Basically, Cameron is still a nice place to go to for serenity. But traffic has become a nightmare. In a bid to increase tourism, the local govt has converted parking lots to shops. With this, cars & buses have to park by the roadside, causing bad traffic. A usual 10 min ride can come up to an hour ride during peak period. Hopefully situation will improve as I really like the place for its cool and not too commercialised settings.
